About Sourcing and Citing
Yes sourcing is
that important.
We believe that for us to be a reputable source of information on the METZ family, we are compelled to back up every claim we make with one or more primary sources, along with secondary sources.
With that in mind not only are we sourcing and citing in our primary tree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Metz-1174, but as responsible researchers we want to share our hundreds of hours of research with current and future family genealogists. We intend to share resources not only for the METZ family, but for other families to which we are related including but limited to these families, but also sources for Lancaster County Pa and other locations where we found Metz’s spreading westward as the American frontier was moving.
Other Mennonite families we find in our very extended tree include:
- Bär (Bear, Baer, Bare, etc)
- Brackbill
- Brubacher
- Buckwalter
- Kassel (Cassel)
- Ebersole
- Erb
- Groff
- Gut (Good)
- Herr (Heer)
- Hersche (Hirschi, Hershey)
- Kendig
- Lang (Long)
- Landis
- Longenecker
- Martin
- Meilin (Mylin)
- Metz
- Näff (Neff)
- Nissley
- Reist
- Schnebele
- Stauffer
- Wäber (Weber)
