Our grandfather Abraham was born to Lodowick Metz Sr and his 2nd wife Barbara Long on 18 Dec 1755 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. At that time Pennsylvania was part of British Colonial America. He was likely born on his father’s dairy farm at Sporting Hill.

Abraham served with 7th Battalion, Lancaster County Militia, Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution.
